Adeb is a passionate advocate for peacebuilding, specializing in the empowerment of children and youth. As a survivor of gender-based violence and a dedicated activist, he has worked extensively to amplify the voices of marginalized communities, particularly in conflict zones. His journey began at 16 in Afghanistan, where he joined youth empowerment initiatives that laid the foundation for his activism in refugee rights, gender-based violence prevention, and LGBTQ+ advocacy.
He recently completed a 6-month International Youth Internship Program (IYIP), where he worked with children in vulnerable communities, focusing on education and youth empowerment. Formerly, Adeb led the Men and Boys Program at YMCA, focusing on gender-based violence prevention, and is currently a member of the National Young Leaders Advisory Committee. He also founded Global Intergen Democracy Advocates, reflecting his commitment to fostering peace through intergenerational dialogue.
With a deep background in theatre, education, and youth leadership, Adeb brings a unique perspective on how creative expression and inclusive dialogue can be powerful tools for peacebuilding among children and youth. At this conference, Adeb will share insights on engaging young people in peacebuilding efforts, drawing from his experiences across Afghanistan, Canada, and beyond.
