Fatu Kaba is an award-winning peace activist, TEDx speaker, writer, entrepreneur, and the visionary organizer of TEDx Argyle St and the Canadian International Peace Conference 2025 in Halifax.
Born during the Liberian Civil War and raised in its aftermath, Fatu’s journey reflects resilience and determination. She overcame systemic barriers to become the first girl in her family to attend college and remains the only woman in her family with a master’s degree. Her dedication to peacebuilding, gender equality, and equitable access to resources fuels her mission to inspire and empower communities worldwide.
Fatu’s decade-long activism includes protesting against gender inequality, hosting youth radio talk shows, debating, and serving as a member of the Liberian Girls Red Cross unit. Her academic achievements—a Bachelor’s in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution and a Master’s in Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation—underscore her commitment to linking education with social change.
She is the founder of HEARTS Global Network, a social venture dedicated to advancing global peace by educating and empowering individuals through innovative education, entrepreneurial leadership, and storytelling initiatives. Her work has earned her recognition as a Yale Young African Scholar, Lift Liberia Scholar, and recipient of the Peacemaker Award.
Fatu’s creative pursuits include writing novels and blogs, hosting podcasts that amplify underrepresented voices, and producing content that inspires action and promotes social change. Her work has been featured on platforms such as CTV, Empowering Humanity Magazine, and UNICEF Voices of Youth.
She has shared her insights at esteemed institutions, including the University of Notre Dame, Dalhousie University, and Saint Mary’s University. As the organizer of TEDx Argyle St and the Canadian International Peace Conference 2025, Fatu continues to amplify voices and inspire transformative action worldwide.
