Born during the Liberian Civil War, she defied systemic barriers to become the first girl in her family to attend college and the only one to earn a master’s degree.
With over a decade of experience, Fatu’s activism spans gender equity, youth empowerment, and nonviolence. She is the founder of HEARTS Global Network, a social venture advancing global peace through innovative education, entrepreneurial leadership, and storytelling.
Fatu’s creative work includes writing novels and blogs, hosting podcasts that amplify underrepresented voices, and producing content that inspires action and promotes social change. Her work has been featured on platforms like CTV, Empowering Humanity Magazine, and UNICEF Voices of Youth.
Recognized as a Yale Young African Scholar and recipient of the Peacemaker Award, Fatu has shared her insights at institutions including the University of Notre Dame, Dalhousie University, and Saint Mary’s University. Now, as the organizer of TEDx Argyle St and the Canadian International Peace Conference 2025, she continues to amplify voices and inspire transformative action worldwide.
